The Sila is especially well suited for you;
- If you have poultry or livestock that needs protection but still want a dog that is flexible enough to do a good job outside and still be able to lay on your couch for a nap!
- If you have a smaller farm or hobby farm
- If you need a dog that is not aggressive towards people
- If you are new to LGD’s and the thought of adding one is intimidating to you – the Sila is a great choice for even a novice dog owner.
- If you want to work with a dog as a partner
- If you are looking for a breed of dog who is actively trying to figure out how to please you
- If you want a dog who wants to stay close to home (less roaming)
- If you have children – they are exceptionally sweet towards children and will never try to dominate them
- If you have inside pets
- If you don’t want to deal with the power struggles of a dog who challenges you for authority
Of course, the Sila is equally fantastic in a variety of settings;
- If you have larger acreage
- If you are looking for a dog capably of working independently
- The more traditional large scale farmer/livestock owner
And lastly, we will occasionally consider placing our pups in a pet home without livestock:
- If the personality of the puppy is more people oriented
- Since they are easy to manage Since
- Since the Sila is very calm and will not typically race around the house
- If you can offer the Sila a good and enriching life
